Founded at Yale University in 1895, Pi Lambda Phi (Pilam) was the first non-sectarian fraternity in the United States, accepting men of good character without regard to race or religion.
The current Penn State PA Omega Gamma chapter at University Park was founded in 1913 and reestablished in the Fall of 2019. The mission of the fraternity is as stated below:
"The mission of the Penn State Chapter of Pi Lambda Phi is to foster a brotherhood that promotes equality and inclusiveness for all. ‘Tis essential for our brothers to embody the core values that form the foundation of our fraternity; To ensure the success of the Penn State and Greek community, as well as our past, current, and prospective brothers."
